Our story

A small flame, made carefully.

Coconut wax, cotton wicks, and small batches poured by hand. Here is how that started and why we have not changed it.

Where it started

Torch of Heaven started the way most candle brands do — one pot of wax, a kitchen counter, and a stubborn idea that a candle should be clean enough to burn every single night, not just on the nights you have company.

The first batches were gifts. Then people started asking what was in them, and asking again when they ran out. That is roughly the point where a hobby turns into a business.

Why coconut wax

We tried the usual options and landed on coconut wax, then stayed there. It burns cooler and slower than paraffin, which is why an 8 oz jar gives you 45 hours instead of 30. It carries fragrance well without needing to be overloaded with oil. And it does not leave soot climbing the inside of the glass, so the jar still looks like something you would keep.

Cotton wicks, premium fragrance oils, coconut wax. That is the whole list. No paraffin, no lead wicks, no dyes, and nothing added to make a candle throw harder than it honestly can.

How we make them

Every jar is poured by hand in small batches. Each one is labeled, cured, and looked at before it goes in a box — wick centered, surface even, label straight. Small batches mean we sometimes sell out of a scent, and we would rather do that than pour more than we can check.

What we care about

  • Clean burning. If it is not something we would burn in our own homes with the windows shut, we do not sell it.
  • Cruelty free. Never tested on animals, at any stage, by us or by anyone we buy from.
  • Honest packaging. What is on the label is what is in the jar, including the fill weight.
  • Ready to give. Every order ships in a printed box with a scent card and a care card, because most of them are going to somebody else.

Say hello

We read everything that comes in — questions about scents, custom orders for events, wholesale, or just to tell us how a candle turned out. Get in touch and we will get back to you.

A note for the site owner: this page is written as a starting point. Replace it with the real story — when the brand actually started, who founded it, where it is based, and anything else that only you can say. Specifics are what make an about page worth reading.
